Finally everybody had a good night’s sleep. And… during breakfast we had MILK! Somehow it tasted a bit different though. We tried to read the ingredients, but everything was in Japanese… We did see some percentages written down and figured out that the milk contained 8% of fat! Now that is whole milk! It tasted very good, but might be a little too fatty for drinking 3 liters a day as a family. At least I found the right section in the supermarket now!
Camiel had an appointment at his new school ‘Aoba-Japan International School’, so had to leave the house on time. He walked with Sander from our house to the metro station Azabu-Jūban (approximately 10 minutes) and took the Oedo Line to the end-station Hikarigaoka. From there it’s a 15-minute walk to the school. He got to meet his teacher Ms. Carmen Kung and had a tour of the school.
While Camiel and Sander were on their way to Aoba, Eline went to Summerhill again. She was quite shy, but didn’t make a fuss about going. Teacher Analene said that Eline tried to participate where she could and that she didn’t cry this time. She did good!
Now both kids are set up for school on Tuesday. We received a list of things they will be needing in class. Because all our things are in the container, we’ll have to buy new school supplies for Camiel. He’ll also be needing an own iPad. We plan to buy two so we’ll have one at home for Sander and I to use as well.
We’ll do that tomorrow. Sander will fly to Belgium for one week on Sunday, and will return on Saturday. Just in time for Laurens birthday on Sunday! I’ll try to manage the household and the kids as well as possible in our new chaos! My best friends are Amazon Japan and Google Translate at the time…
